Many students encounter mechatronics equipment through the Integrating Studies modules integrated within their undergraduate curricula. Additionally, students engaged in product development often seek guidance from our seasoned technicians to better grasp the electronics behind their projects and explore available options. Our technicians are equipped to help enhance students' programming and robotics skills effectively.

Soldering Station

This versatile soldering station is designed for soldering electronic components, playing a crucial role in electronics and electrical engineering. The setup includes fume extraction, a digital multimeter, a wire cutter, a wire stripper, solder and de-solder tools, along with a soldering iron.

Student Projects - Buggy Race

A practical example that allows students to develop mechatronic skills is seen in the Integrating Studies module in their first year. Each team is tasked to create a buggy they believe will be fastest and most innovative, using a common electronic base for uniformity across team projects, competing for victory in a competitive race against their peers. The first semester grants access to workshops for fabrication, while the second semester focuses on body design and electronic integration leading up to the final race. Student Projects - Storm the Castle

Another engaging aspect of the curriculum is the 'Storm the Castle' project in the third-year Integrating Studies module. Students collaborate in teams to design a machine programmed to detect and follow specific markings on the ground, aiming to navigate the arena effectively and score points by knocking down designated objects. This collaborative effort fosters a strong team spirit and is an invaluable experience for our students!

In one notable project, we assisted a local bakery in transforming their production line by constructing a robot capable of consistently shaping and delivering cakes down the assembly line.
